2018 PQGSA WINTERBALL

PQGSA offers two options for playing during the Winterball season. Please read below for more information.

OPTION #1: PQ STORM Softball (Competitive)

PQGSA has partnered with STORM Softball again this year to offer a more competitive softball environment for those highly skilled and all-star level players looking to play at the next level (8U/10U/12U/14U). This program is different from the Winterball Rec League program in that teams will play a more competitive schedule over a longer period and be selected from a tryout process.

Season/Schedule: 8U goes from August thru December (5 months); 10U/12U/14U goes from August thru March (8 months)

Practice twice a week at Canyonside Park; plus 2 games on Sundays (Home games at Canyonside Park); plus entry into travelball tournaments.

Cost: 8U is $350; 10U/12U/14U is $500…also includes your early discounted/non-refundable 2019 Spring PQGSA Registration Fees! This fee also includes tournament and uniform costs. Payable to STORM Softball after the tryouts. Best rate in San Diego!!!

Participation: Participation is by invitation or tryout only.

Tryout Reservation List: Please email the respective coach below if you're interested in trying out for STORM Softball this winterball season:

For 8U and 10U please contact Scott Ward at stormsoftball2014@gmail.com

There will be an 8U and 10U tryout scheduled for Sunday, July 29th at Canyonside Park Field #8. 8U from 11am-1pm; 10U from 9am-11am

For 12U please contact Doug Tracy at dltracy@sbcglobal.net

There will be 12U tryout scheduled for Sunday, August 19th at Canyonside Park Field #5 from 9am-11:30am.

For 14U please contact Travis Smith at giapetto27@yahoo.com

There will be 14U tryout scheduled for TBD

OPTION #2: PQ Rec Winterball League

The goal of the Rec Winterball program is to offer a place for players to keep their skills fresh in the off-season as well as a place for all players with the desire to further their softball skills.

All Rec Winterball players will register via online registration. Registration will be open to 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U players. Registration online will be opening within the next couple of weeks (look for a link to be posted soon). Team size will be determined by the number of registrations per age division. There is no tryout process.

Season Schedule: The Rec Winterball season runs from late August until early November. Practices are only on Fridays, with doubleheader games on Sundays. This schedule is made to avoid conflicts with soccer.

Cost: The cost for the Rec Winterball season is $110.
